Two Approaches and a Sugar Bun

A lovely, soft summer Sunday morning was a perfect setting for flying around the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

After practicing an approach at Delaware Coastal (KGED) we ventured over to Easton (KESN) for another approach and breakfast. When the tower asked where we were headed for parking, just answering “Sugar Buns” was enough to make me smile.

Parking was easy, and the resident Starfighter was there as always to add a little excitement to the tarmac.

This small but lively airport cafe proudly serves mostly homemade dishes. They have an extensive menu (just the varieties of Egg Benedict alone can cause thinking overload). The unique “Elvis Toast” looked tempting too.

The lone waitress was super-friendly and efficient. Local families and aviators chatted and laughed.

And of course you have to take a Sugar Bun home!

You can’t beat a friendly, towered airport with long runways. I give this adventure 5 out of 5 stars.

P.S. If the terminal doors on the tarmac side are all locked, walk around to the south side gate and go in through the pedestrian entrance.
